Child Safety Standards

Last updated: October 19, 2026

TimeLine is made by TimeLine App LLC. These are our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation, how to report it, and what we do when we find it.

1. Zero tolerance

TimeLine has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). TimeLine is only for adults 18 and older. We ask for a birthday at sign-up, do not let anyone under 18 create an account, and delete any account we learn belongs to a minor.

2. What is never allowed

  • Any image, video, audio, drawing, text or link that shows or describes the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, including AI-generated or edited material.
  • Sexualizing minors in any way, including comments, captions and "jokes".
  • Grooming: building trust with a minor, or someone you believe is a minor, to sexually exploit them.
  • Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of a minor, or of anyone, to get more images, money or contact.
  • Asking for, offering, trading or advertising any of the above, or trafficking a child.
  • Using TimeLine to find, contact or meet a minor for sexual purposes.

3. How to report it

  • In the app. Tap the ⋯ menu on the moment, comment or profile and choose Report. Pick the reason that fits best, such as Nudity, Harassment or Other, and add a note. You can also block the account so it can no longer contact you.
  • By email. Write to [email protected] with the subject "Child safety". Include the username and a link to the moment if you can. Do not send us the images themselves.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first.
  • You can also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline, or by phone at 1-800-843-5678.

4. What we do

  • We review child-safety reports first, ahead of everything else.
  • We remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
  • We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC's CyberTipline, as US law requires, and keep the evidence for law enforcement.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement investigations and respond to valid legal requests.
  • We rate-limit messages and new contacts, let anyone limit their direct messages to BFFs only, and let anyone block any account.

5. Laws we follow

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including US federal law on reporting child sexual abuse material (18 U.S.C. § 2258A). These standards sit alongside the zero-tolerance rules in our Terms of Service.

6. Child safety contact

Our designated child safety point of contact can speak to our CSAM prevention practices and compliance. Contact TimeLine App LLC at [email protected] with the subject "Child safety".
